Ozon builds largest logistics complex in Kazakhstan

The construction of an Ozon logistics hub, the largest in the field of e-commerce in Kazakhstan, has been completed in Astana. The logistics hub will allow entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan to scale their online business, deliver goods to customers faster, and create thousands of jobs in the region.

Kazakhstan's largest fulfillment center (total area of 38,000 sq. m.) will open in April to receive a wide range of goods and will be able to process at least 260,000 orders per day. Up to 9 million different items can be stored in various categories from food and electronics to building materials.

The logistics hub includes a complete "production" cycle for online orders, from receiving the sellers' goods for storage to creating the packages. The goods placed in the fulfillment center will be sold not only to the residents of Kazakhstan, but also to the multi-million audience of buyers in Russia.

"The opening of a warehouse complex is an investment in the development of e-commerce in Kazakhstan and support for local entrepreneurship. This will reduce the time to pick up goods, which means a 1.5-fold decrease in delivery times to Russia and a 2-fold reduction across Kazakhstan. The opening of a large logistics facility will further boostthe development of Astana's economy. When the center reaches its full capacity, 2,600 jobs will be created said Ozon COO in the CIS Aleksey Sapon.
