Moscow to provide free promotion on Ozon to local manufacturers

Moscow consumer goods manufacturers will be able to present their products in a separate themed store window on the Ozon marketplace, and will also receive free advertising of their products on the site.

The Moscow Government is expanding promotion opportunities for companies participating in the Made in Moscow program, an effort to support local brands. Now manufacturers based in the capital can be part of the special Made in Moscow store window on Ozon, boosting the visibility of their products.

What's more, products from these manufacturers will also be promoted on the marketplace. A banner on the Ozon home page will take customers to the special store window. They will also learn about it through push notifications and email.

This product advertising on Ozon will allow Moscow entrepreneurs to make their brands more recognizable and increase sales, and it will allow customers to easily find and purchase goods made in Moscow.

The Made in Moscow store window on Ozon already features more than 5,000 products from more than 40 of the capital's manufacturers. And we are confident that the assortment will expand when entrepreneurs see their sales increase and realize what the marketplace offers. Thanks to this project sponsored by the Moscow Government, entrepreneurs will gain an additional sales channel and spotlight for local products for free. We always try to provide the largest toolkit for the development of small and medium-sized businesses, because about 80% of our sellers belong to that category," said Ozon Managing Director Sergey Belyakov.

"In order to join the Made in Moscow store, a company must be a participant in our program. In total, more than 600 Moscow-based brands are already participants. Placement on marketplaces will help entrepreneurs present their products on platforms that are familiar to consumers and popular with them," said Alexey Fursin, Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the City of Moscow. The application to participate in the program can be found here.

"This gives access to the widest audience: in our case, sales on online platforms account for up to 70 percent of total turnover, so promotion on these platforms is very important," says Yulia Bikeyeva, founder of Bikki, which makes gluten free cookies. The Bikki brand was one of the first to join the Made in Moscow program.

The Moscow Government's support program is intended not only for Moscow-based companies that are already represented on the marketplaces, but also for attracting new sellers to the marketplace, who will receive help registering and consultations on the platform's tools.
