Ozon and Russia's Ministry of Economic Development launch a program to support small and medium-sized businesses

Under the partnership program, entrepreneurs will get personalized mentoring on how to start their business on the Ozon platform as well as free product promotions to make their first sales.

Building on the My Business network of regional business support centers, Ozon and the Russian Ministry of Economic Development are launching a support program for businesses that plan to start selling on the marketplace. New sellers who participate in the program receive advice from Ozon experts regarding their first sales on the marketplace, as well as 5,000 bonus points (1 point = 1 ruble) that can be spent on promoting their products on the platform. The Ozon experts help the newcomers figure out not only how the platform works, but also how to design attractive product cards and launch an advertising campaign. Under the program, points are cumulative — with 18,000 Welcome Points automatically available to new sellers when they register on the Ozon platform, starting January 25, 2023.

Sergey Belyakov, Ozon's Managing Director, notes: "The marketplace's model promotes the development of small and medium-sized businesses — the platform provides ready-made tools for getting started and scaling up online sales. Even now more than 80% of entrepreneurs on the platform are SMEs. In partnership with the Ministry of Economic Development and My Business centers, we want to help entrepreneurs across the country to start selling on the marketplace, where their products will be available to customers in more than 3,700 locations throughout Russia."

The program is available to sole proprietors and legal entities that have not previously sold goods on Ozon. To participate, submit an application from February 1, 2023 at a My Business center (for entrepreneurs in Moscow — at the State Budgetary Institution Small Business of Moscow) or by following this link: https://forms.yandex.ru/u/63ce99286938729e8e702585/

"In practically every region of Russia, the popularity of services offered by My Business centers for helping entrepreneurs get started on marketplaces is not decreasing, but only increasing. We can see this not only by analyzing those who use the centers' services, but also by looking at the overall trend in our country. Since 2020, the number of new SMEs participating in online sales has risen actively, primarily due to covid restrictions and the inability to conduct offline sales. In 2022, the number of SMEs that registered for online sales was 1300% greater than in 2019. As part of our joint campaign with Ozon, entrepreneurs will receive bonus points for promotion equivalent to approximately 70,000 ad impressions, and a personal manager will help entrepreneurs reach their first consistent sales," said Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Tatyana Ilyushnikova.
