Russian Post now allows Ozon orders to be picked up at its post offices. More than 600 post offices in 50 regions have already joined the project, creating new locations where customers can pick up goods. The companies say that in the future this delivery option may be scaled up to include most Russian Post branches throughout the country.
Ozon customers can choose delivery to nearby Russian Post branches. To pick up an order, customers only need to show a barcode from the marketplace's mobile app or provide an order number. Post offices will serve Ozon customers with a prioritized online queue thanks to the new "Pick up an Ozon order" section in the menu. The average order pickup time in the priority queue has been reduced to 2-3 minutes. Postal branches with an Ozon pickup point are open 7 days a week to promptly receive and hand over Ozon goods.
You can currently pick up Ozon orders at more than 600 post offices in 50 regions. Most of them are located in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, and Omsk. According to Ozon's preliminary estimates, the company will be able to organize the customary level of service for order pickups at 22,500 post offices across the country. When the first stage of the joint project is complete, Ozon and Russian Post will analyze operations at these locations and decide whether to expand further.
"Growing the network of pickup points, both our own and partner locations, is Ozon's business priority for the current year. We continue to fully support owners of new pickup points, incentivize openings in promising locations, and expand our cooperation with our current order delivery partners. We already have positive experience cooperating with Russian Post: the postal service helps us distribute orders in remote and hard-to-reach settlements where Ozon does not yet have its own logistics infrastructure. As part of a pilot program at 600 post offices, we now want to provide buyers with a wider choice of locations for self-pickup, which is the most popular delivery method among our customers," said Denis Dyachenko, Ozon's Director of Partner Logistics Development.
"We are actively cooperating with Ozon domestically and internationally. Now it will be even more convenient to get online orders at our branches: they can be picked up seven days a week using a barcode and without additional confirmation. Post offices are multifunctional spaces near residences. Postal, banking, and retail services are available here. And now, with our partnership with Ozon, convenient pickup points are also appearing," said Georgy Alikoshvili, Russian Post's Deputy General Director of Commercial Activities.
